What are we exactly trying to do & why?

The statistic shows the onset of major neurotic disorder like depression and anxiety in children is around their puberty & teens. To mitigate the risk of these problems from mounting up into unresolvable, complex issues- it is important to teach children about understanding and handling their problems & emotions from an early age. To foster a better mental health for them to perform better in various facets of life - not just academics.

How is mental health and nutrition co related?

Nutrition plays a vital role in impacting the mental health of individuals. Certain modern-day lifestyles are robbing us of some key nutrients which support neurotransmitter synthesis and brain function. Studies have shown that nutritional deficiencies -especially B Vitamins, Minerals and Essential Fatty Acids – can create or intensify the symptoms of psychological disorders. At Karuna, we believe it is imperative to bring this awareness to both teachers and caregivers, in order to ensure that the child has a sound nutritional foundation upon which other mental health interventions can be built.

Are the outcome measurable?

Yes. The psychological test performed will be standardized tests hence outcome will be scientific and measurable.
